Chopsticks | Zine + Poster

The under acknowledged issue with disposable chopsticks.
This project explores the overlooked environmental impact of disposable chopsticks, an everyday object often perceived as harmless, yet deeply connected to global deforestation. Through a bold visual language and data driven storytelling, the poster and accompanying zine aim to challenge this assumption and bring awareness to the scale of the issue.
The work highlights how the mass production of single-use chopsticks contributes significantly to the loss of forests, a consequence that is rarely considered in daily consumption habits. By presenting statistics in a clear, engaging format, the design encourages viewers to reconsider the environmental cost behind convenience.
As a counterpoint, the project promotes reusable chopsticks as a simple, practical alternative. Lightweight, portable, and easy to clean, they offer a sustainable solution without sacrificing usability.
Visually, the project uses a limited color palette, strong typographic hierarchy, and editorial layouts to balance impact with clarity, making complex information accessible while maintaining a striking, contemporary aesthetic.
